Wolfie and Schapie

Last summer I was asked to help with The Summer-Bibelclub. I wanted to bring some humor in the program and made inspired by The Muppetshow some hand-puppets: Wolfie and Schapie.

I had lots of foam-plastic left over from an old fitting-doll project so I could start right away; I had only a few weeks to write the dialogue and make 2 hand-puppets. Writing the dialogue was fun as was making extra accessories like a tiny rug sack and I-Phone and a dead canary etc.
After 2 weeks my puppets and extras were finished and the children were very interested :)

Here are some photo's from the work progress; since this are my first hand-puppets ever I had to find out how to create the snouts; I cut them out from thicker pieces of foam plastic.

Pattern basis-head and patterns of arms
Snout and ears and eyes added to basic head
Eyes made from plastic eggs and felt.
Making the cloth mould for the cover of the head, I have removed the temporarily pinned on ears. I use stretch cloth.
You only have to make a half mould; mirror it on pattern-paper and you have a head-cover-pattern :)
