Pincushionfun

In the beginning this year I got the spring fever and wanted to make something nice for Easter to give to my my sister in law(it was for her birthday) and when I finished her gift I was so inspired I also made one for my mother in law and my father in law(although his was to put chocolate-eggs in).
I recently had bought  all kinds colours felt and took some of my small glass jars and crochet teacups to make pincushions.

Since my mother in law is a bee-keeper I made a little bee-pin; I found a great tutorial on making tiny bees here: the blog http://sabiiwabii.blogspot.nl/2010/12/diy-blossom-and-bumblebee-pin-cushion.html

Frog on water lily.

Bee on flower.

Train on track.

After the bee I made a little frog from pipe-cleaners for on the water lily and have since made more insects.
I have been cleaning out my closet and given clothes away to friends but there were some items I still wanted to do something with. Last year I got a huge amount of textile-materials like embroidery-tread samples, wool, hand painted cloth, weaved cloth, tools, textile-books etc; I had been dreaming of having lots embroidery-colours so I felt really blessed even though it took me 2 months to sort everything out.
So now I am in  the process of pimping up some jackets and T-shirts. I made a skirt from a piece of velvet I bought at the clothes-market some years ago and needed something to go along with it so I found an old pink t-shirt back and decided after seeing a tutorial on doing roses with thin silk-band online ( I couldn't find the website where it came from to give credit to the person who posted it but it is on my Pinterestboard: embroidery techniques)
my Pinterestboard
I have used scraps from the skirt to finish the neckline and will also use that on the sleeves.
I have embroidered it in freestyle. So here is how it looks until now; I will post more photo's when it is finished.

Well this is my adventure with God and the creative gifts He gave me; boredom is not in my vocabulary: I hope to inspire other people with my posts.

Nature is my main inspiration and people are my main inspiration for everything I make; this summer I went camping in Limburg and discovered the rose-farms;so wonderful, every kind of rosesort you can imagine!
I bought some roses as a gift and one for myself(the car was full with camping-stuff otherwise I would have loaded the car with rosebushes)
This is a "Teatime rose"
